Self Care Products I cannot live without

I was never the most materialistic person growing up. Well, if I was, it definitely wasn’t for any kind of beauty or self care “necessities.” Honestly, I didn’t indulge in make up, fancy shampoos or lotions until I was well into my 20’s. It wasn’t until I started a FabFitFun subscription that my beauty routine got kicked up a notch. No, FabFitFun definitely did not pay me to write about their products but…. I mean, I totally would accept that if they did.

The subscription was supposed to be a one time deal for me, but of course it’s the classic story of – I got it once and now I can’t live without it. I like to think of my FabFitFun subscription as my self care treat yo-self of choice. I spent $50 bucks every 3 months on maintaining my well being, and it’s worth every penny. It also helped me understand good quality products. So I was able to go out and buy other products, not from FabFitFun, and fall in love with those as well. So without further ado, here are the products I rave about.

VOLITION – Celery Green Cream
I love this sh*t so much. You know how you use a face cream and it really just feels like a thin layer of gunk on your face – and then 1 hour later your face is dry again? Just me? Well – I was struggling to find a face cream that actually worked, kept the dryness away and had a welcoming scent. The first time I used this cream I literally sighed relief, as cheesy as that sounds. You can actually feel it working the second you put it on. It smells of fresh cucumber, celery, green tea and kiwi…I know right? Orgasmic. I try to savor it. You only need to put on very little and you’re set for the day. My skin hasn’t been dry since. Cross my heart, it’s true. So, if you want your face to feel fresh, hydrated and awake – you need this cream.

TULA – So Pumpkin Sugar Scrub
I found this product on instagram, funnily enough. I’d always been cautious of anything being promoted via Instagram. I prefer a little more backing than just a social media platform. However, over time I saw more and more people using it, not just on instagram but also on YouTube. I know I know it’s still social media but it was EVERYWHERE! I’m a huge pumpkin lover and have also been looking for good face scrubs, serums and foams. So, I gave Tula a try. Their products…specifically their pumpkin sugar scrub…one word, unreal. The sugar scrub yes, smells like pumpkin but it also somehow smells like warm pumpkin. I’ve been savoring it ever since. It’s the perfect seasonal self care treat and I promise you will not regret this purchase.

Function of Beauty Hair Products
Okey another thing I found via social media but this time just YouTube. I can’t explain it. I saw people using a super adorable bottle of shampoo with their name on it and in different colors and the consumerist in me said….I gotta have it. I’ve had dry scalp for as long as I can remember, so the idea that I could put together a concoction of ingredients for a shampoo/conditioner to not only help the dryness but also help it grow and keep it shiny – like, sign me up. I have shampoo, conditioner and a hair mask. I’ve noticed major growth in my hair, smoothness and no (clap) dry (clap) scalp (clap!) I highly recommend Function of Beauty especially if you have specific needs for your hair.

THIS WORKS – Deep Sleep Body Cocoon
Another FabFitFun product I swear by. When I first got this lotion I thought – ha, that’s so cute that they think a lotion is going to make me sleepy. I put it on that same night and passed out within 10 minutes. I don’t know how it does it but it’s probably got something to do with the lavender and chamomile infusion. I don’t put this on every night because to be honest some times it makes me a bit groggy in the morning, but I always put it on when I want a great nights rest and can snooze a few extra hours.

And on that note, I’m tired. There are several other products I use regularly and lean on, especially on a self care Sunday which, yes I know that’s corny but – I can’t live without it these days. Please share the lotions, creams, shampoos, masks, etc etc etc that you use. I’m always down to treat myself!
